We can't wait for spring flowers! But while we wait for the first blooms, why not bring a little of that anticipated brightness indoors with a simple and fun paper flower craft? With just a few materials and our easy step-by-step instructions, you and your kids can create colorful paper blossoms for pencils—adding a pop of color and letting imaginations bloom!
Gather Your Supplies:
These are the supplies for this project:
- Paper
- Scissors
- Coloring tools (markers, pencils, crayons, etc)
- Tape or glue
Create your Flower Pencil Toppers:
Step 1: Color the front and back of your paper with your color of choice.

Step 2: Cut your paper into 6 squares.

Step 3: Cut out flower shapes from your squares.
Step 4: With a sharp pencil or hole punch, put a hole in the center of the flower. Pinch the middle of the petals up and the sides of the petals down as shown.
Step 5: Slide your flowers onto your pencil and glue or tape down. We used three flowers per pencil.
